I am borrowing a format from an artist to use here. Blue Bird Baby is a fantastic blog. Simple. Lovely. Soulful. Inspiring. She uses a weekly format to document. I like this method of tracking the days and the process. I have modified her approach a bit. Every week you document and you note by the week. She documents her darling daughter’s life in a really lovely way. Go check it out.
This week I am:
Very little. Sad, but true. It has been a busy week of fundraising for me. I work with a school foundation and our largest fundraiser was this weekend. As well, today I get to serve ice cream to all the little ones at the local elementary as a celebration. Very cute!
This tome. Love it. Love it. Love it.
These kids grow up… This is such a horrible picture, but I just found it and nearly died. Look at those mouths of metal! Seriously, we had three in braces at the same time?!? Even better, we will have three in college at the same time in just three more years. What great planning on our part!
To my heart. To my intuition. To my calling.
I know that sounds a little goofy, but I have spent so much time reacting to things and not listening to what is really important. All that reacting is a great way to stay stuck. I don’t have time for it anymore. Instead, I am listening to what I really need in my life and I am making way for it to come on in. Life too quickly passes when we focus on the external trappings that keep us tied up in knots. So, I am listening.
Honestly. I am thinking about whether it is the right time to tackle The Whole 30. I know I need to get rid of the “mid-life 25” and my husband could stand to get a little healthier too, it is just so hard to think that ground beef and bacon can be any part of that fix. Are you with me on this? How can bacon possibly be part of a healthy diet?
These two to just stay like this…. Don’t grow up! Stay like this…
To go to the DMV. Someone stole the license plates off our Rover last night. Waah! I get to go in today and wait in line, for ever… It may be an opportunity to get new pretty plates though. Always looking for the bright side.
These gorgeous shoes! But guess what? I bought them. Hey, life is short and I need a little shoe love in my life. Vince Camuto, baby!
This bit of gorgeousness I bought last week. I have had my coveting eye on this thing for a while and now that it is warming up to 90 degrees(!) what do I do? I buy it. A sweatshirt! But here is the deal; it is the softest most lovely thing. Sleeves are crazy long. It has pockets. The hood is lined with lace. Soo lovely…
This deliciousness over a taco salad with quinoa, black beans, roasted corn, grilled honey chipotle chicken, avocado, green onions, grape tomatoes, and salsa!
I used herbs from my garden and homemade yogurt in place of the sour cream. The recipe is a great starting point to make something amazing.
Oh my gosh! I went to a cocktail party in our neighborhood last night and met some delightful new friends, but I also had a Moscow Mule for the first time. I know, you all have enjoyed these for years and I am way behind the times. So, I made up for it last night. What a great party and what a great drink!
I hope your week is good. I wish for you a week of sunshine, bravery, and love.
